Karlyn Marie Kasperek and Timothy John Finucane were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Amherst on May 15, 2004 at two o’clock in the afternoon.

The Reverend Louise Ulrich, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church, performed the ceremony and organist, Dr. Roy Clare, filled the sanctuary with music.

The bride is the daughter of Ken and Marilyn Kasperek of Akron, NY. The groom is the son of John and Lois Finucane of Lancaster, NY.

The bride, attended by maid of honor Mary E. Wittlinger and bridesmaids Alison and Sarah Kasperek, was presented by her parents and wore a gown of Traditional Irish blue.  The gown was of a blue satin with white organza overlay featuring white embroidery.  The princess seams flowed into a full skirt with rounded kick train trimmed with white braid.  The sheer sleeves completed the gown and featured the same white braid on the split cuff.  The gown was an original design hand crafted by the bride’s parents.  The bride carried blush roses, may bells and starflowers with ivy in a bouquet designed and hand crafted by the groom’s mother.

The groom, attended by best man Gregory Van Splunder, groomsman Walter Koneski and ushers Justin Allaman and Christopher Roth, was presented in marriage by his parents.

A dinner dance reception was held at Eddie Ryan’s Restaurant in Lancaster, NY.  After a trip to Virginia Beach, the couple is at home in Depew, NY.  The bride is the Director of Community Education for Akron Central Schools and is completing her Master’s Degree at Daemen College.  The groom is a Senior Programmer/Analyst at Algonquin Studios and is the Webmaster for the Akron Bugle online edition.
