Akron Little League Varsity Tigers meet BarLyn in season opener
Ready or not, it’s time for Akron Tigers Little League football, and nobody knows that better than the BarLyn Tigers Varsity squad. On Saturday, the Akron Varsity Little League squared off in a grudge match against the BarLyn Tigers, who last year handed Akron one of its rare loses. In both the season and home opener, the Akron Tigers have put the league on notice that they are playing for keeps, by defeating the BarLyn squad, 26-12.

Cummings earns All State Honors
Nick Cummings, who in 2008 helped lead the Akron Tigers to their best season in 30 years, capped his high school career recently by earning All State honors from the New York State Sportswriter Association.

Mini Tigers take to the football field
Football season is upon us on this sun splashed Saturday, August 23, 2008. The sun wasn’t the only thing heating things up in Akron. The Akron Mini Tiger football league was on fire against the Bar-Lyn Cubs.
