District Business Administrator Cynthia Tretter was asked to bring “cost to taxpayer” comparisons of putting some of the positions back into the budget, to the next meeting which is scheduled on Tuesday, April 6. “Sound Outs” began arriving at the Akron Bugle office on April 2. “Last evening I learned of one of the Board of Education’s current dilemmas in relation to staff cuts,” Nancy Jo Eckerson writes. “There is now talk of abolishing the position of Elementary School Library Media Specialist, the Librarian, in other words. I have serious concerns as to the wisdom of this cut-back.” The BAC is set to meet on Tuesday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. and again with the Board of Education on Wednesday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. at which time the Board is scheduled to decide what budget they will bring to taxpayers in May.
