Akron Boys Swim Team regains strength this season
The past 2010-2011 season for the Akron Boys Swim Team was no walk in park; with the departure of eight very strong seniors and the retirement of long time coach Dick Beyer, the remaining young swimmers along with new coach Jackie Kazimir had their work cut out for them. With a league record of 0-10 and an overall record of 3-11, the Akron Boys really had no where to go but up this season, and while expectations may have been low, this team has been fighting their way back up the leaderboard all season.

Dearly beloved, we gather to remember Kodak's good times
We seldom call them funerals any more. The term "celebration of life" has come into play for a gathering to remember someone who has passed away, normally a painful event made more bearable by humor.
Speculation was high last week that the Eastman Kodak Co. was preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Kodak was a giant among American industries, bringing magical images to presidents and paupers alike.

Three inducted into new ACS Wrestling Hall of Fame
Current ACS Head Wrestling Coach Joe Suhr is a certified social studies teacher. Akron Wrestling Tournament Director Daric Brege is a current social studies teacher at ACS. Long-time wrestling coach Jerry Drayer was a social studies teacher at ACS for over three decades.
You could say there is a strong affinity toward history within the ACS wrestling program, and over the Christmas break a major step was taken to recognize the rich history of this program. On December 29, Akron hosted the 44th Annual Holiday Wrestling Tournament which is the longest running tournament in Western New York. During the tourney, Coach Jerry Drayer, and two wrestlers; Dan Klonowski and Charles Kron, were recognized in a special ceremony as the first three inductees into the newly created ACS Wrestling Hall of Fame.
